so, i shldn't be blogging at this hour when i shld be wking on my assignment
but seeing the tons of bks piled on my desk, just leave me moodless and brain-DEAD.
i thought i need an avenue to let out my thoughts, my feelings. but i don't know how to start and what to say cos all thats been happening recently jus tumble my life upside down. on new year eve, went to esplanade for countdown (the firework was fabulous).
before that, we caught sherlock holmes at 4pm - a show definitely worth watching, though the starting was a little draggy.
had dinner and walk to esplanade, we went to some duno wat cafe to chill b4 the countdown.

today is totally disastrous!!!
i slept for merely 4 hrs last nite, thanks to the LM project.
this morning rush for the practical exam (didn't even have much time to do some warmup first)
the exam was reallly terrible, i got almost all my scales mess up (except for appegios i think).
for the pieces, the first one was alright, for the following two ..... sigh
not to mention aural!!!
then headed to sch in afternoon...
only YC and me were present...the rest skip cos i think they were all too tire by the LM
went to have a look at the bookfair with YC.
hmmm...books there quite cheap, but doesn't really interest me.
okay i am not a person who buy books, cos there is something call 'library' haaa

hmmm...the place or rather i shld say the shops there are so high end that none of dare to step in. so we practice what was called window shopping.

i swear it was the worst movie i've ever watch, the movie was so terrible that all of us went swearing and cursing our way out of the theatre.

okay...since i am damn free now, i shall pen down (or rather blog) my first 3 days in sch.

Day 1
reach sch on time and saw HT at the bus stop, she was waiting for Char but went in with me since Char will be late. then saw YC and KJ sitting outside the lect hall. apparently, they reach really early and had already screen their temperature at the kiosk.
after that went in the lect hall, our lovable lecturer printed notes for the whole sem for us. yeah can save my printer ink haaa
lecture was boring as usual.
oh!! we wanted to pay sch fees after lect, but was shocked by the queue in the office.
so decided to come earlier b4 lect to pay

Day 2
i had to blame myself for choosing the wrong seat. i didn't notice the air-con right on top of me, thrghout the lect, i was frozen though i am wearing jacket
on a side note, i finally receive my student card after waiting for half a sem

Day 3
YC and vic chose the row that i was sitting yesterday unintentionally!!! as a result, this time round HT was being 'frozen' lol

yeah!!! the exam results are finally release!!!
i have been waiting for it since last thurs... 4th june till NOW
FINALLY the wait is over!!!!!
okay...all results are suppose to be release on 4th june but due to some stupid internal problem w the school (i shan't mention it here) part of our results are being withheld back...
so out of the 4 modules, i only get to see my 2 modules results

on 9th june, they decided to release another 1 result and finally today they release the final module result...
can you imagine all of us sitting infront if the computer screen and constantly refreshing the page, wondering where the rest of our results have gone to????
the anxiety, fear blah blah blah is indescriptable

anw...i think i am pretty happy with my results, got 3 distinctions yeah... i tink certainly deserve a celebration haaa (i'm too thick skin)
all the hard work paid off...i remembered months ago...when i thought i couldn't make it...lol

i want MORE holidaysssssssss :)

realised that i have been watching lots of movies recently. i caught Angels & Demons on fri with my usual cliques...actually intended to watch the 8pm one, but tix sold out so we got the 9pm one instead..
i thought this show was v much similar to Da Vinci Code.... written by the same author, and in terms of the story framework, climax and twist are almost the same (those who have watch da vinci code wld get wat i mean).
Anw...this show have lots of scenes on self-inflicting pain, burning themselves to death blah blah blah...so if you can't stand it then better don't watch it.
oh...we missed the last train home...luckily the last bus is still available :)

then went to MS with the rest....had lunch at some duno wat restaurant...
we wanted to watch movie but the timeslot that we wanted was packed so had to choose a later time slot which is at 6.45!!!!

Anyway catch the show X Men the origin - Wolverine...
was a not bad show
but i strongly don't encourage children to watch cos its too violent and certain parts too gruelsome!!!

Had steamboat at International Building with nicole and gang...was quite a long long time since i last saw them, anw they didn't change much. Was late ard half an hour cos the traffic jam at that time was pretty bad so i asked them to started eating first...decided to cab home with doris considering that it was quite late and i have sch the next day but....the taxi was so difficult to fetch...in the end i took bus instead.

i simply jus can't wait to submit the hmt essay...have been rushing since afternoon...
it is my first time staying up till 3am doing the referencing and cutting down on the word count...can u imagine doing the referencing and cutting down the words took me like the whole afternoon and nite....
Anyway our word limit is 1500 but our grp essay exceeded terribly by ard 800 over words and the BEST part is most of the points are so impt...how to cut...
Wats the point of having a essay that meets the word limit but seriously have no depth and content in it.
but still have to cut...we have no choice, do we?
the word count is not that bad actually, considering that i was also doing the referencing that was confusing, having to follow the 'harvard style' referencing. i don't even noe whether did i do it correctly...sigh...

watched the movie The curious case of Benjamin Button on wed after PM lesson, was rather tired cos lesson started early. Had lunch at KAP before heading to Cathay. The journey there was surpriseingly fast, considering that we took a bus there, but it doesn't matter...cos i was sitting with a few of them, while the rest are standing throughout the journey...lol. Nvm, aid in your digestion after lunch..haa
though i felt that certain parts of the movie was a little draggy, but it was still not bad on the whole (it was a three hours long movie).

Class starts today as early as 8.45am...and guess what...i was punctual but the lecturer was late, for like ard 20 minutes i think. and his excuse: i was stuck in the traffic jam...lol
Anw...bought a second-hand mkt textbk for $20, hopefully it will be useful...if not i will kill the teacher for that..ha ha...
Visited the NP new foodcourt with Ene, hT, kJ, Yc & tor for lunch ...it has really been a long time since i last went there. I thought the food that was so-so but the environment there is pretty good though.

went to national library today with eileen. yan qing with unwell so she didn't join us.
Can you believe it, it is my FIRST time stepping into the national library. Special thanks to Max Weber, if not for HIM, i won't be there.
Saw Hwee Ting and Charlene there, heard frm them that the rest of the class are also there. i won't be surprise even if you tell me that the whole lecture group is there as well..lol
not forgetting to mention, because reference books are not allowed to be borrowed, so we are left with no choice but to start reading those THICK THICK books in the library.
Arggh...max weber and his theories....

sch started for quite some time already... and i am beginning to feel the stress building up.
2 individual assignments, 2 projects plus class tests and exams... not to mention the tutorial assignments...HELPPPP !!!!! Hmmm...i think i better shut up.
suppose to be doing my assignment now, but i went sidetrack, blogging away...LOL

Third day of sch, was rushing for class then saw somebody at the bus stop and i didn't saw the person standing there till i saw something like a figure waving to me...cannot blame me, was rushing ma...

Anw some time ago...went bugis for lunch with my fellow OG group after class. I was so freaking starve...ordered a bowl of noodle and guess wat, the noodle was soooo spicy.
*To the noodle uncle (though i know he won't be reading this) We didn't say we want chilli in our noodles ma, even if wan to put also dun put so much ma lol.
So in the end, i didn't finish the noodle...expected rite...ha ha....

I know it has been a really long long time since I last blog, but anyway, that is not important. There has been just too much things happening recently that I feel I just need a channel to pour in my thoughts.
Things are changing, and I need a lot of getting use to. If you duno what ‘things’ I am referring to, its ok, that is also not important.

This year have proved itself to be a busy year, just simply too many things to do yet so little time, I know there are many more people out there that might be even much more busier than me...but different people cope with things differently ma...hmm...maybe that shows I have poor time management...ha ha...

Reflection

I feel that the syllabus covered in our CIP module is quite appropriate because we are taught a variety of things like managing hardware and software and also the understanding of Computer Network and Internet. Other than lessons, CIP also covers PBL.

What is being taught is basically what I expect of the module because from the name of the module, computer and information processing. I knew that I will likely be taught things which are related to computers.

The workshops on MS Word, Powerpoint, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Flash are quite interesting and useful. The workshops and assignment are appropriate in developing your IT hands-on skills and I believe these skills would be useful in the future. However, I find that the time given for us to complete the assignment is quite short and it would be better if the students are being taught in greater details about the software like Dreamweaver so students will find it easier when doing the assignment.

I feel that the PBL problems are authentic enough for students to learn better
It provides an opportunity for students to work effectively in teams as well as develop problem solving skills. PBL also train students to learn and work independently because students are not spoon-feed with answers but are given feedback which makes students think deeper into the questions.

The lecturers and tutors are quite helpful in my learning because they are helpful and friendly. Therefore, students find it comfortable to seek help if there are any doubts. The class size of 40 is a not a very good size for effective learning because when there are too much people in a class it will tend to be more noisy and some students might find it difficult and hard to concentrate during lessons or unable to hear what the teacher is saying. However, there are also advantages to having a class size of 40. Students can learn from each other and having a bigger class, students can also learn from people not just from their own class. Students may also have a chance to work with people from other classes.

If there is 1 thing that I can change in CIP, I hope that the length of the CIP tutorial lesson can be shorten because I feel that it is quite tiring for the eyes to look into the laptop for three hours. The eyes should be given a break. It would be better if the lesson time is reduced to one or two hours.

If there is at least 1 useful thing that I appreciate in CIP, it would be that through the CIP macromedia assignment, I have learned how to use Flash and Dreamweaver. It is interesting because I learn how to create a web page.

To end up, I think that I have learn something from this CIP modules like how to use software like Flash and Dreamweaver.

Haven been updating my blog regularly... Anyway, the CIP presentation has ended finally. My group is the second last group to present. Therefore, there are not much people around. I think the presentation ended quite smoothly although I stammer along the way… as usual. Our tutor, Mr Tan also took pictures of us after the presentation. He is really a good tutor. I feel that this time the PBL is much easier to do. We spend time doing the research and after that putting all the information on powerpoint. Looking for the correct information was not very easy because some of the information we found are not appropriate and therefore we have to search again. However, We are able to do this project quite effectively maybe is because of the experience we have gained from doing PBL1.

About the module, CIP
I feel that this module wants students to be equipped with at least the basic computer knowledge that would be useful in the future when students enter the society.
During the past three weeks, we have been taught to understand some issues and concepts of a constantly-changing and computer-oriented society and also to appreciate the uses and benefits of computer technology, as well as the risks related to their prominence in our society.
I expect and hope to learn and acquire skills that enable me to use computing software more competently and I can benefit from this module through hands-on assignments like PBL.
